Saving Prescription Medication and Medical Necessity: Last Set of Calls Urgently Needed NOW!
Yesterday, was a wonderfully successful for people with disabilities to be heard at the Medicaid RALLY at the Capitol. See:

Pam Spiro Wagner who spoke at the MHAC 100th Anniversary Dinner, was the first to speak at the Rally concerning the impact that deprivation of any of her 9 psychiatric medications would have on her life. She concluded that she would likely be hospitalized at a much higher cost to the taxpayer because she is Medicaid and Medicare eligible as are most members that MHAC serves.
There are strong indications that we are winning this issue, because of all the contacts, the rally, the press and the efforts of certain legislators on the inside, but it is not resolved yet. Sen. Harp, co-chair of the Appropriations Committee, is key in this, but also important is Senate President Don Williams as well as Appropriations Co-Chair John Geragosian.
